Description
This heritage trail is marked in yellow and will take you to discover the orii, constructions which will make you think of hobbit houses. Built from natural caves called tafoni, the orii of Monacia-d'Aullène were used as dwellings, burial sites or silos.
To start this walk, you must take the D 50 road towards the village and turn left to take the path marked in yellow. Do not hesitate to follow the signs and to cross the footbridge over the stream to discover the orii of Monacia-d'Aullène and in particular the oriu which can be reached by climbing the stairs located to the right of an isolated house.
To return to the starting point you must turn around and continue walking until you reach the village of Monacia – you must take the path on your left. If you have some time to spare, you should take a look at the village and in particular at its church.
