Road access
The road-trip from Calvi to Montegrosso takes 27 minutes for 18.5 kilometres. You must take the road T 30 towards Île-Rousse for five kilometres, then you must take the road D 151 towards Calenzana for five hundred metres and finally you must take the road D 451 towards Montegrosso until Montemaggiore.
You can park your car where you want but pay attention not to block the traffic, in particular during the summer season.

Description
This walk will allow you to discover the hamlets which are part of Montegrosso, in particular Montemaggiore, Lunghignano and Cassano.
After having parked your car, you should find the path which starts to the east of Montemaggiore and which begins to descend gently (you should know that Montemaggiore is home to the A fiera di l'Alivu, which takes place every year in July).
After a few hundred metres you will find a fork in the path: you must take the path which climbs to your left. This path starts in ascent, but then descends until it reaches a stream which you must cross.
After having crossed the stream, the path climbs again, gently at first and then a little more steeply after having crossed the D 151 road. Keep walking until you reach the church of St Raineru, which is located between Montemaggiore and Lunghignano. Keep walking along the path down towards Lunghignano: take a look at the old houses and at the carved doors of this village!
Go around the village church and continue walking towards Cassano, which has an estimated population of 100 people and where you can find a star-shaped square that connects all the village streets. Follow the signs to return to the starting point. If you are thirsty, you can find a drinking fountain along the way.
