From Porto-Vecchio you must take the T 10 road toward the village of Sainte-Lucie-de-Porto-Vecchio. At the village traffic lights, turn left towards Conca. After about five kilometres you will come to a fork: go straight ahead until the end of the road. You will find a large pay car park where you can park your car.
The Cavu originates at an elevation of 950 metres in the regional forest of l’Ospédale and flows directly into the Tyrrhenian Sea. The river is popular with locals and tourists and people bathe in the natural pools of this watercourse which discharges into the Tyrrhenian Sea. In 2014 the Cavu became the first place of re-emerging schistosomiasis in Europe, but this problem seems to be solved.
If you like walking and if you want to discover the flora and fauna of this area, then you should take the nature trail that will help you to discover the Cavu river and the eastern part of the Zonza regional forest. At the beginning the path goes along the river and then it begins climbing upward rather steeply. You will reach two viewpoints: the first at an altitude of 400 metres and the second one at an altitude of 500 metres.
If you do not want to take the nature trail then you can reach the pay car park where you will find another path that you must take until you will reach the Cavu river, a twenty-minute walk. You will find several natural pools where you could swim and cool off! The stream of Cavu is very popular with tourists and locals, in particular during the summer period.
